Review of The Great Dictator (1940) by Sara R — 03 Oct 2008
Chaplin is a genius: To think that this was actually done at the time when the events presented were actual reality for many people and the way they are depicted...The humour, the sensibility, the tragedy.
This is a sublime and elevating movie that is as touching as it is funny. Makes me cry for it's sheer greatness and laugh for the absurdity and good-natured funniness of it all.
