Review of The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) by David P — 30 Jan 2016
The quick wit, the acting, the story, everything about this movie works in the only way that Wes Anderson can successfully pull off. I don't think I'll ever understand the star power that he's able to bring in to this film and yet have the unknown Tony Revolori be the other star of the movie next to the brilliant Ralph Fiennes, and I love the artistry in this movie.
However, this is just too quirky for me to really enjoy it as much as I wanted to, and I don't see where the heartfelted-ness I'm hearing about comes from other than for Agatha. Having said that, between the hysterical dialogue and the quirkiness of, well, everything, this can be a fun one to watch.
