Review of The Goodbye Girl (1977) by Kelley — 27 May 2008
Also one of my top 5 favorite of all time. I had an insatiable crush on Elliot (just like Lucy's friend, Cynthia Goldstein!? LOL).
Directed by Herb Ross (no big surprise here, this guy doesn't get the credit he deserves; his life's work is Impressive/amazing!) The screenplay by Simon is perfect; but I believe this cast is what breathed life into this movie. tender, funny, true, edgy, sexy, and yes, wonderfully romantic.
