Review of The Goodbye Girl (1977) by Bobby A — 09 Mar 2009
This is one of those quintessential New York movies. Manhattanites, New York City, Actors, and well it doesn't get much better than Neil Simon's writing. So many lines to quote from, a tour de force performance from both leads. Dreyfus has never been better, Mason never been cuter... this before every male and female lead had to look like greek gods and sound like robots. And let's not forget the romance factor, the funny factor, and even a decent song by ex Bread frontman David Gates.
A must see.
