Review of The Goodbye Girl (1977) by Luc L — 12 Nov 2010
I'm guessing, because this was written by Neil Simon who is a fairly original writer, that this could be the original blueprint for many modern day romcoms. The formula is there for all to see and has been used and abused many many times since. The difference between this and those is that this was witty and didn't star Hollywoods hottest hunk and whoever the present IT girl happens to be.
This film was all about the dialogue which was pretty sharp but teetering on the annoying at times.
