Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by Kyle T — 12 Jun 2012
Pretty much the best Western ever. If anything, the most epic. All of the performances are nothing less than amazing, and some of the most memorable performances in film history. Then thereâ(TM)s the soundtrack, oh the soundtrack.
The most memorable soundtrack to a Western, in my honest opinion. Everything is put on the hugest of scales, and the sets look spectacular due to the grandeur of them all. Seriously, everything is cranked up to 11 on the epic-ometer.
This is THE Western film, the one that defines the genre, as it does everything the genre entails, does more with it, tells a huge story to go along with it, is spectacularly written, features some of the best acting, great editing, HUGE HUGE HUGE amounts of suspense and tension, God, just about everything is perfect in this movie.
Nothing fails in this movie, it is all just simply divine, and it more than deserves the title as the best Western film ever made.
