Review of The Good Shepherd (2006) by Tanner B — 07 Jul 2016
The Good Shepard (2006) C-167m. ?? D: Robert De Niro. Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin. Long, boring drama (from a screenplay by Eric Roth) unsuccessfully (and very torpidly) tackles story behind corrupted Central Intelligence Agency, and illustrates man who witnessed it all.
What a cast! What a smart story! What a disaster! A real letdown from De Niro who scored big with THE BRONX TALE, this time his story is muddled, confusing, and tedious. Many familiar faces run throughout, who serve mostly as a distraction, since viewer has absolutely no idea what the hell is actually going on.
And it drags on forever! Good job on the cinematography, though.
