Review of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) by Michael T — 21 Jun 2008
Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation is the primary reason for seeing this film. Even in today's era of computer-generated FX, Harryhausen's creatures come marvelously to life and are superbly designed.
Another reason to see this film is to see future-DOCTOR WHO Tom Baker as the evil prince Koura who opposses Sinbad (John Phillip Law) and ultimately fights a duel with him after Koura has gained the powers of invisibility.
The third reason is to see the truly lovely Caroline Munro as the semi-draped slave girl Margiana.
