Review of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) by Anton B — 13 Sep 2009
I actually preferred this one to the more-beloved "7th Voyage of Sinbad": not only is the acting generally better, but the movie is also free of certain aesthetically unpleasing aspects like the boy genie and the inside of his lamp, which mar the first film for me.
Unfortunately, many characteristics of early 1970s culture (e.g. shaggy hair or drug references) are awkwardly conspicuous. I think Sinbad and stop-motion animation belongs more to the realm of 1950s B-movies.
I was happy to discover that Miklos Rozsa composed the music.
