Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Shane D — 22 Nov 2012

You might consider a 2 star rating way too low. Well you might be right, but I'm making a point. I think the Godfather II is one of the most over-rated films of all time. It's basically three hours of Pacino making a sad face, lots of talking and very little of the panache or ruminations of the first.

I could stumble across Godfather Part 1 and be drawn in instantly. Throughout the entire re-viewing of this sequel I just kept looking at the clock. Sure, its stylish and attempts to expand on the original, but pound for pound it is dwarfed in just about every facet except for running time.

But what do I know, everyone thinks this is great, and it probably is.
