Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Joshua D — 18 Feb 2015
The Godfather part II. Wow. The sequel to the legendary Godfather had big shoes to fill and it filled them with a vengeance. Puzo's story continues to pursue the Sicilian crime ring following the story of its predecessor and Michael's rise and fall with a new plot following the beginnings of Vito Corleone.
All things enjoyed about the first are still considered and built upon by Coppola's extravagant scenery and art. This is a ginormous film. With a running time of over three hours The Godfather never drags but keeps its thrilling story of vengeance, love, and family continuously building, to create one of the most beautifully violent films of all time.
