Review of The God Who Wasn't There (2005) by Mitch L — 17 Apr 2008
Pretty shallow. It makes a few interesting (albeit not unique or original) points at first, but then it kind of just meanders off on a tangent and never quite returns. The last fifteen or twenty minutes of the film are almost entirely pointless.
Also, the director, Brian Flemming, is a complete ass to the gentleman he interviews at the end of the film. Generally speaking I have no problem with non-theists being tough on religious people for their outlandish beliefs - after all, when you can't use reason to argue your case, ridicule is the next best thing - but the belligerent and largely meaningless questions Brian asks at the end of the film don't do anything to further the film's premise, so what's the point?
