Review of The Glenn Miller Story (1954) by Christopher G — 13 Aug 2007
For anyone that has struggled as an artist or who just has to endure tough times, this is a worthwhile story. It is also the story of one of the most influencial musicians of the 20 century, who in many ways wrote the score to our collective cultural 'memories' of WWII.
As played by the glorious James Stewart and directed by the under-rated Anthony Mann, this film is equally inspirational and heart wrenching for how it ended. A Stewart performance many have not seen.
