Review of The Girl Next Door (2004) by Patrick L — 12 Aug 2011
"The Girl Next Door" stars Emile Hirsch (who?) and Elisha Cuthbert (a beautiful blonde woman) and is about a boy who is graduating when he meets a sexy and beautiful neighbour and ends up catching more than an eyeful of her undressing in her bedroom.
She comes over and initially the boy thinks he is about to be in trouble for spying on her but she keeps the secret until they go out in her car so he can show her around town. He is caught offguard by her boldness when she essentially convinces him to undress and stand in front of the car.
She drives off once he has completely undressed but finally she allows him back in the car. With that awkward moment, a very unusual love occurs between this shy young man and the slightly older girl who turns out to be a former porn movie star. This is a fairly unique story, if highly sexual and sexist, and there is some chemistry between the two stars.
The film explores their very unusual relationship and the repercussions that occur in both of their lives. 5 out of 10.
