Review of The Girl Can't Help It (1956) by Jason S — 22 May 2009
Great glimpse at the 50s rock'n'roll culture, featuring perfomances from Little Richard, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, The Platters and more.
Also starring Jayne Mansfield and Tom Ewell which I think is ironic considering he also starred alongside Marilyn Monroe in 'The Seven Year Itch'. The film itself is pure cult, with dubious racey gags i.e a milk man's bottles overflows as he is delivering milk while Mansfield casually glides past.
This film is a great predesessor to John Waters ' Pink Flamingo's'. Alot of great over the top cartoonish performances,.
