Disappointment = Disconfirmed Expectations. Based on the positive reviews and scores, I was expecting and hoping for more from The Gift. However, although I wasn't bored, I wasn't totally engaged either (other than a few scream-out-load moments.
) I wonder to what extent the positive reviews are the result of the underlying message of the film. (I won't say more and risk a spoiler.
