Review of The Gift (2015) by Timeofthechimps — 30 Aug 2015
Brilliant. The Gift is full of great acting, tense settings, and has a (thankfully) limited number of jump scares. As a deep introspection into the workings of the human psyche, Joel Edgerton's directorial debut is thrilling, and just when you think it's going one direction, it takes a brilliant 180 degree turn.
Way to shift sympathies there at the end, man! Anyway, The Gift's title is eerily accurate: don't hesitate to unwrap this masterpiece that's sitting there, just waiting for you to revel in its glory.
