The Gift must be considered a triumph for director/writer/producer/star Joel Edgerton as well as crafting a truly effective suspense thriller, skilfully manipulating the audience along with the central characters, he wrings a best-ever performance from Jason Bateman as the ambitious Simon.
Satisfyingly creepy.
