Sam Raimi re-visits his horror roots and serves up an eerie Southern fried Gothic atmosphere. Yet, the movie doesn't succeed completely almost in spite of itself. Some great casting choices (Cate Blanchett, Giovanni Ribisi) are outweighed by some really curious ones (Keanu Reeves, Greg Kinnear).
Will forever be known as the Katie Holmes nude scene movie.
