Review of The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) by Tiburon B — 01 Jul 2014
In this fact based Oscar winner for sound editing two lions stake there claim against Charles remington played by Michael douglas and val Kilmer who both give great performances. The films score was a personal highlight for me since it came from the same man from poltergeist, hosiers and his Oscar win for the omen.
The sound editing in this film really adds alto of character to this film and if you study film this is a good one to teach you how good the technical aspects can improve your film. This movie plays out in many ways a plagiarism of jaws and each has the aesthetics that save it from a B movie.
Oh did I tell you this for the most part really happened. Its a favorite of mine and anyone that knows me well will tell you how many times I've enjoyed watching this thriller. Solid 3 stars.
