Review of The Gay Divorcee (1934) by Richard D — 25 May 2015
The Second Astaire/Rogers outing, and one of their best (but they're all so great aren't they?). This movie features three memorable dance duets: 'The Continental', 'Night and Day', and the 'Table Dance' at the end of the film.
If for no other reason, watch this for the erotically charged 'Night and Day' number. After the dance, Fred offers A dazed Ginger a cigarette, and she declines, but the film viewer could probably use one! Wonderful, joyful film.
Fred and Ginger are truly magical as always.
