I have a theory here that Eastwood the Director wants to give Eastwood the actor a shitty time of it here.
Afterall he is shot at about a million times and then kicked in the groin by Sondra Locke for Good Measure .
Ben Shockley is no dirty Harry hes a Drunk and a Dead Beat ,but when he discovers he has been set up then crikey he knows how to kick ass.
The action in the film maybe a touch over the top but its well staged and Eastwood gets dome great pithy lines to spit out.
Perhaps one of Clints most underated films I enjoyed it immnesly.
