Review of The Gate (1987) by Erik O — 02 Aug 2008
It's pretty good; definitely a lot more intense than the crappy PG-13 "horror" movies that we're treated to today. I enjoyed the weird imagery, and particularly admired the Harryhausen-esque claymation creatures.
I suppose, overall, it's just slightly above average, but I thought that it was a pretty decent way to kill 1 hr. 25 minutes. It was also pretty cool to see a young Stephen Dorff in the main role.
