Review of The Gate (1987) by Miles K — 25 Nov 2013
The rendition of hell in this movie as a sort of chilly, indifferent place is intriguing. I have a fondness for strange and whimsical horror flicks, with added points for children main characters in peril.
The movie is not scary, nor was it really meant to be, it's a bizarre movie that could sit comfortably next to Labyrinth and The Neverending Story. The 80's cheese limits the audience to those tolerant of such things.
The visual effects are unique and interesting.
