Review of The Game (1997) by Todd B — 18 Jul 2012
An interesting thriller with apt direction from David Fincher. I only wish the ending had been so much different. I truly feel that a darker conclusion to the film's story would have solidified 'The Game' as a cult classic thriller.
Sadly, the movie sticks to a happier premise at the end, going for a, "well, that was fun, thanks for coming," sort of mood. The performances from Michael Douglas and Sean Penn are still top notch, however, and elevate this thriller above most of its wannabe brethren.
