Review of The Fury (1978) by Gary K — 28 Dec 2011
It's interesting that DePalma followed "Carrie" (1976) with "The Fury." Both stories revolve around people with telekinesis, but the films are very different and take very different approaches.
Whereas "Carrie" was a straight-forward thriller, "The Fury" is an action movie with some horror elements driving the action. DePalma's fingerprints are easier to spot in the set pieces, camera work, and tone of the film.
The plot itself is a little goofy, but the action overcomes the weaknesses.
