Review of The French Connection (1971) by Kieran C — 14 Jan 2016
Inspired By A True Story, This Gritty & Realistic Crime Drama Classic, Is Extremely Believable Although It Is A Fictional Adaptation Of A True Story. The Film Itself Has An Excellent Backbone Structure, Most Likely Due To The Fact That It's A Real Life Situation.
The Actual Contents Of The Film Are Mostly Fictionalised. It's A Superbly Crafted Film With A Great Script & Great Cast Performances, But For Me What Makes This Film Excellent Is That The Film Is Solid, Realistic And Beleievable.
The Film Also Ends In A Darker Tone Than Most Films For It's Time. Back When This Was Produced All Or Most Films Ended Very Happily With The Good Guys Winning, It Just Adds Another Layer Of Realistic Proportion To An Already Solid & Believable Film.
