Review of The French Connection (1971) by Ian M — 11 Apr 2010
Undoubtfully the don of all Cop dramas. Its impressive and virtually a clever and skillful picture. Gene Hackman probably gives his career best as a tough enthusiastic character who gives it his all in order to get the job done.
strong performances by the people involved, incredible cop vs criminal scenes masterfully done with a unique car chase in particular, A well made thriller with huge impact of cinema history. The French Connection may not be one of my personal best as there is better out there, but it ticks all the boxes for people to enjoy a piece of good fine filmaking.
