Review of The Fountainhead (1949) by Lindsay A — 30 Nov 2008
One of those movies I actually have no idea how to rate: it's one of the best book adaptations I've seen--I mean, true to the book and yet still fitting for film, which maybe has to do with Rand's early love for Cecil B.
DeMille. On the other hand, that means that it has all the flaws of Rand's book, most notably characters who are either mouthpieces for her philosophy or its 'enemies'. Cooper and Neal are great to watch if you can get into the over-the-top, exaggerated silent film quality of the film.
