Review of The Fountainhead (1949) by Aldo G — 17 Feb 2012
The hero of this movie forces himself sexually on a woman, refuses to cooperate with his fellow man and commits an act of terror when he doesn't get his way. Ayn Rand's paean to selfishness is very well directed by King Vidor and all of the performances are excellent.
But, the story itself is heavily leaden with Rand's Objectivist philosophy. All of the supporting characters are one dimensional robots and in the end all that's left is a call for a caste system.
