Review of The Founder (2016) by James E — 26 Jan 2017
I'm surprised THE FOUNDER isn't getting a lot more love. I found it to be incredibly interesting and engaging film. The story as to how the biggest food chain in the world came into fruition is really quite fascinating. The movie did a great job showing us what all took place. Everyone gives fantastic performance and I'll go as far as saying Michael Keaton was SUPERB! Honestly, I think he's definitely worthy of an Oscar nomination. Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch were also great as the McDonald's brothers. This film is a damn good character study of Ray Kroc. We get a look into what type of person he was. The business world is a dog eat dog world and the movie does't sugar-coat that notion whatsoever. He did a lot of morally wrong things to get ahead.
Overall I was thoroughly entertained by THE FOUNDER. I was engaged from start to finish. The performances are excellent. Other than a few pacing issues, I thought it was a fascinating biopic.
