Review of The Fog of War (2003) by Doug D — 31 Mar 2008
Robert S. McNamara shocking honesty and frankness in this movie caught me completely off-guard. He had no real obligation to do this, yet he calmly discussed the horror of the Vietnam war and his role. Though he never took real responsibility for some of the more savage acts and war crimes, the fact he was able to say he'd made mistakes and didn't really try to defend his actions, says volumes about his character.
This should be compulsory viewing for grade 12 students in the U.S.A.
As a Canadian all I can say is, thank fuck we had the good sence to stay out of that WAR. Yes you read correctly, WAR, police action my ass.
