Review of The Fog (2005) by Pascal G — 16 Feb 2009
I haven't seen the original that this was based upon, so I can't compare them. Having said that, as a stand alone film, I like this one. It probably should have been referred to as a psychological horror rather than a generic horror, because there wasn't much to it physically - but as a simple ghost story, it did quite well.
Effects-wise, I liked the fog - it took on a life all its own, becoming in effect a character (with characters within!). I felt genuine sympathy towards the lepers who died in the flashbacks, and wish their story had been elaborated upon more.
