Review of The Fog (2005) by Michael V — 16 Nov 2011
Why make a remake based on a John Carpenter classic and then give it a PG-13 rating. PG-13 is like the ultimate cockblock of horror gore movies. Then you get a cast of TV actors thrown together with some neverwas.
The acting was completely mailed in. The CGI was hokey, stilted and throw in in a lot of scenes unnecessarily. Most horror movies these days suck to one degree or another, but this moving distinguishes itself as being among the worst of the worst.
Seriously, save yourself the time and energy and steer clear of The Fog. I haven't seen a horror movie this bad since I saw the remake of The Haunting. Towards the beginning of the movie Superman's trucks windows all blew out.
Then the next day it's all repaired. I can see getting it fixed the next day, but when you're running around trying to prove the innocence of your tolken black friend and running away from spooky pirate ghosts where do you find the time.
I mean was it one of those places that come to you to repair it. That would make for a great ad campaign. "If you're too busy running away from pirate ghosts but still need that windshield repaired call us!" *SPOILERS* Then you get these spooky pirate ghosts who are making the children of the forefathers pay for killing them.
But they only kill a few of them. The head spooky pirate ghost gets his wife back through main chick being reincarnated and leaves with still having a few of them left. Wasn't even like a big climatic moment.
Just oh there she is got my piece of ass back. I'm not worrying about the rest of you who I owe a blood debt too. BLAH horrible! And now this town is empty at the end of the movie like they went and killed everyone.
But you only see 8 deaths. I'm I to believe that this town only has like 15 people living here? Carpenter must be pissed!
