Great production values, great performances and "no bullshit" attitude to violence. Personally I've truly enjoyed it, however, I'm not the type to overanalyse my entertainment. You might have issues with this one, if your inquisitive nature handicaps your ability to simply enjoy the unfolding story.
Especially while it unfolds over it's often "not-entirely-realistic" script. As a side note, it sure is weird seeing C. Bale returning to the "Empire of the Sun" (1983) era as a grown man.
Weird in a good way.
