This film has no redeaming qualities. I find children burning down an abandoned building as an act of mischief morally wrong. That it was treated so cavalierly was indefensible. It was an affront to the underprivileged the film was trying to describe.
Why was there no moral compass present to counteract the lying, stealing, and prostitution? There were decent characters to counteract the lead character, but this wasn't explored. It could have been an educational avenue to a slice of society most Americans never see.
