Review of The Florida Project (2017) by Mmadnessgames — 19 May 2018
It's not Willem Dafoe's best Bobby (see: Wild at Heart), but he does a great job with the character. Framing the narrative around young children is a good idea and provides Florida Project a freshness that it otherwise lacks.
My main problem with the film is Bria Vinaite (the mother; Halley). I realise that it's her first acting gig, but that doesn't make her performance any better. Her lack of experience shows. I don't find her character particularly believable. It detracts somewhat from the film, at times.
It's a good film.
The end is great.
