Review of The Florida Project (2017) by Mr P — 17 Nov 2018
The movie presents the world of a six-year old (a willful, spirited little girl Moonee) of an unfit mother living in a flophouse motel close to Orlando's Disneyland. It is a poignant depiction of life on the margins of American society.
The story captures beautifully (with an almost surrealistic quality) the childhood that is tameless, magical and oblivious. The downward spiral is equally captivating and heartbreaking when the fluff and the magic of the little girl's pink and purple wonderland collapses.
