Review of The Florida Project (2017) by Jesse D — 04 Nov 2017
Sean Baker's follow-up to critical hit "Tangerine" is another poignant picture of modern America struggle. The foul-mouthed kids of the Magic Castle hotel are so endearing with each giggle and smile they show.
Their lives are far from perfect, but when together, it's happiness that you see despite the reality of their situations. Once again, Baker proves he is a directorial star in the making by balancing hilarity and heartbreak in a way that sticks with you.
Willem Dafoe is fantastic in his role as Bobby, the hotel manager, but Valeria Cotto and Bria Vinaite are phenomenal as mother and daughter.
