Review of The Florida Project (2017) by Ieva S — 27 Apr 2018
Feral children behaving badly and most of the adults behaving worse. Clearly, twenty cartons of cigarettes were burned in the making of this movie because the loser mom--for whom we are supposed to feel what, exactly?--is never filmed without a ciggie dangling from her potty mouth.
Meanwhile, the F-bombs fly so frequently that I started to feel bad for the child actors even as scene-after-scene of their boorish, over-the-top antics began to grate. Ok, the film is nicely shot and Willem Dafoe delivers some redemption to the project and the concept of what goes on around the seedy fringes of Disney World had promise.
But the best part of this movie for me was when it ended.
