Review of The Fighter (2010) by Jared T — 05 Feb 2013
A typical Christmas biopic that has a few slights of hand that make it worthwhile. I'm still unsure if David O. Russell realizes some of the hilarity- I felt like I was laughing AT the movie in certain parts- but his past work (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees, Flirting w/ Disaster) suggests that he knows what he's doing.
I also felt like we could have easily shaved 30 minutes off the length by cutting out some of the "OUR FAMILY IS TRASHY" stuff.
