Review of The Fifth Element (1997) by Christopher G — 29 Dec 2014
This movie, objectively speaking, was bad. Stereotyped characters and a worn-out JRPG-esque story were present, to be sure. Yet, both as a teenager (when this was in theaters) and in the present day, I find myself loving every moment of it.
Something about the characters being bored with the things we find to be both foreign and familiar is really enjoyable. This is a movie that, in spite of its flaws, I will be watching again and again.
