Review of The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) by Timothy M — 28 Jun 2010
An exceptional comedy, no questions asked. Fearless Vampire Killers is an example of what can only be described as "dry slapstick". An effective lampoon of '30s and '40s monster films, but far less one-dimensional than most parodies.
The Swiss Alps present a gorgeous backdrop, and the art direction is unrivaled, especially in its genre. A gorgeous (and effective) Sharon Tate doesn't hurt the scenery either; the image of her solo ballroom dance is eerily sexual.
