Review of The Fallen Idol (1948) by Zayne R — 25 Sep 2008
This Graham Greene screenplay adapted from his own short story is told from a young boy's point of view as he believes he has witnessed a murder and must try and cover it up to help his friend.
Slow going initially this ends up an effective little thriller especially during the final sequences as the boy, trying to protect his friend, lies and then tells the truth to the police.
