Review of The Exorcist III (1990) by Dan S — 22 Nov 2006
The Exorcist III is a good sequel and nicely follows the story on from the original film. William Peter Blatty (who's primarily a writer) does get too indulgent at times, which doesn't help the pacing of the film.
His humour superbly offsets the horror, but he does rely on special-effects, creepy corridors, flickering lights and nightmare dream sequences too often. That said, the film has one of the best jump-shock moments every filmed.
