Review of The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) by Hate Y — 30 Oct 2009
Much different than I had expected. It wasn't quite the horror movie it's billed as. It was very much like a version of The Exorcist as told in the vain of To Kill A Mocking Bird. Jennfier Carpenter was unbelievably believable in her portrayal of a posessed college student.
Making what would be seizures look more than and contorting her body and mouth in ways that seem only possible via enhanced graphics, yet the producers claim she did it herself. And if she is truly capable of consistantly using two ranges of her voice at the same time naturally, this woman is a freak of nature that needs to be studied.
I honestly don't know what's real and what was CGI in her performance.
