While the whole idea somewhat falls apart with the rather bizzare (even for a film like this) third act, The Entity is one of those rare chillers that haunts you long after the credits have rolled. Barbara Hershey gives one of the best performances of her career as a single mother transformed into a repeated rape/assault victim.
.. except her attacker is a poltergeist.
