Review of The Entity (1982) by Peter W — 11 May 2012
Poltergeists grownup older brother. The strong themes and characters are ably supported with effective visuals and well constructed scenes. The effects are amazing and look great today and while maybe over long the story does mostly support the length. The brutal use of sound is unlike anything else and perfectly matches the unsubtle attacks of the being as it wreaks havoc on the characters.
A staple of late night TV in the UK I've seen the flick dozens of times and it never fails as a strong piece of dark fantasy storytelling (even if 'based on a true story').
