Review of The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (1995) by Kelly H — 13 Jul 2009
I love the quaintness of its setting, eccentricity of its characters, their frequent clashes/interactions, the peacefulness of the atmosphere and the small and amusing jokes throughout. Its just in the middle that it loses some of its steam, but only to pick up soon with a sweet climax.
But those who claim that it stretches one joke to make a film out of it, I wont completely disagree with them. But if you're missing monsoons, wanting a holiday for long, coping with heat or fed up with the complications of your life then watching this film can turn out to be a treat.
