Review of The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (1995) by Petros T — 08 Jul 2016
This is an interesting tale of persistence featuring some very good performances by Grant, McNeice and Griffith and well-written dialogues. There's something about this film that makes it instantly loveable.
It may be its realism or its love for life. Or maybe its charming story of true grit or its British touch. It deals with everything: religion, love, friendship, faith, courage, partnership, without being tiring or over-written.
It's so simple but so complicated. You could say it's magical.
